Cell Accessories That Pay
The latest in cellular accessories hints that cash is becoming obsolete. New cellphone accessories allow you to plug in a device to your phone that swipes a credit card, transferring payment. For small business owners and many others who don’t happen to have cash on them, this new wave of cellular accessories is a boon. The Square is one of these cellphone accessories that allows people to buy, or transfer payments from person to person, without using cash. You can also text a payment to someone using VeriFone, or you can bump two cell phones together using PayPal’s cell application to transfer monies.
Of course, some of these products charge around 2% for their services, but in comparison, the fee from an ATM can easily surpass the 2% transfer charge. Many people prefer to use their credit cards, even when they have cash – it’s an easier way of spending money because cash is too tangible, too weighty, and too space consuming.
With all of these new technologies combining to outdate standards that have long been in use – paper money, books, and others, questions linger about whether these older modes will continue, or whether new methods will continue to evolve, eventually replacing them, and changing life as a consumer.
